Jordan Love shredded the Pittsburgh Steelers' defense on Sunday Night Football, recording 20 straight completions during the matchup. Connecting with 10 different pass-catchers, there seemed to be nothing stopping Love.
But while Green Bay's through-the-air performance was something to behold, the Steelers seemed to find success limiting the ground game, holding Josh Jacobs to just 33 rushing yards. Fortunately, Emanuel Wilson decided it was his time to shine.
Despite ending the night with two fewer carries than Jacobs, Wilson recorded nearly twice his yardage, rushing for 61 yards against the Steelers. Averaging 5.5 yards per attempt, he managed to pump some life back into the Green Bay run game, which had struggled to find momentum early in the game.
Emanuel Wilson may have forced his way into Matt LaFleur's plans
After a muted first half from the Packers' offense, during which the team rushed for just 19 yards, Wilson began to see more touches.
The third-year back saw 42 percent of offensive snaps, the highest rate of his career, signaling that Matt LaFleur and company are aware of Wilson's ability to rise to the occasion. He made sure to produce with the larger workload, recording a career high 87 scrimmage yards, 77 of which came in the second half. The performance outpaced not only Jacobs but also the Pittsburgh running back duo of Jaylen Warren and Kenneth Gainwell.

Wilson's pass-catching ability proved vital to jump-starting some of Green Bay's second-half drives. A 14-yard reception kicked off the final drive of the third quarter, which ended with a Jacobs touchdown, giving the Packers a lead that they never let go of. Another catch followed a 15-yard rush by Wilson that started an early fourth-quarter drive. Just two plays later, Tucker Kraft found the end zone.
Wilson might not be the first player, or even the first running back, most people think of when they think of the Green Bay Packers, but the showcase he put on against the Steelers should draw the attention of fans.
While Love played one of his best games against an NFL legend, Wilson produced in crucial moments, emerging as yet another threat that defenses must account for.
