Thirty-two players will hear their names called in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft. None of them, none of them, is Micah Parsons.
The Green Bay Packers don't own a first-round pick. They traded that away to the Dallas Cowboys as part of the Parsons package. And that's just fine by us, because as Parsons said himself tonight, the Packers have already won the draft.
"I just think that the Packers won the draft already," Parsons said during Bleacher Report's live coverage of Round 1. "With the Packers' first-round pick, they aced the draft already. They aced it. It was this guy who just so happens to be a three-time All-Pro."
Stop him when he's telling lies.
Micah Parsons is right. The Packers have already won the 2026 NFL Draft
Sure, it's no fun watching the first round pass by without a first-round pick. It's like having no gifts to open on Christmas. But the Packers received their Christmas present eight months ago, and it's way better than any of the gifts being handed out on Thursday night.
In this draft class more than almost any other, the lack of true first-round talent is telling. If ever there were a year not to have a Day 1 pick, this is it.
Green Bay will have to get to work on Day 2 as it has other needs on both sides of the ball. That could even include trying to trade for another pass-rusher (Kayvon Thibodeaux, anyone?). The Packers also need to get it right at cornerback and defensive tackle. But no matter what happens, landing Parsons with their top pick already makes the draft a home run.
Further proof that the Packers have won the draft already?
Just look at the move the Cowboys made. They traded down from No. 20, the pick from the Packers, before selecting pass-rusher Malachi Lawrence at No. 23 overall. They used the Parsons pick to replace Parsons, but the odds of Lawrence reaching that all-world level aren't high.
The Packers already unwrapped their Christmas gift, and they can put their feet up on Day 1 as the clear winners without even needing to lift a finger.
