As the Green Bay Packers work their way through training camp, the team is awaiting the return of Micah Parsons. However, it has already been made clear that he won't be returning anytime soon. Parsons isn't expected to return until after the season starts, but all the Packers are hoping is that he's the same player whenever he is back on the field.

However, the veteran defender has already expressed that he won't be the same player when he returns. Of course, that statement from Parsons resulted in a lot of panic from Green Bay's fans, but his recent elaboration on the statement helped everyone exhale.

Parsons delivered a quote that will make Packers fans want to run through a wall and puts the NFL on notice.

"People are worried about the knee. They should be worried about how I'm gonna play when I get back. The anger, the frustration, the things that I'm about to let out because of how long it's been since I've played," Parsons said, via The Athletic's Matt Schneidman. "So I think that's what people should really worry about. How great is Micah gonna be when he gets back? Not about when I get back because that's the short term."

Micah Parsons is determined to return to Packers as an even better player

That's a reasonable way to look at a significant injury, and it's great to know that Parsons isn't just accepting that he'll be an inferior version of himself. Instead, he's focused on using the ACL injury as a catapult to become an even more dominant player.

A more dominant Parsons would be a sight to behold, as he was already an elite defender. In five NFL seasons, the edge defender is a five-time Pro Bowler and three-time first-team All-Pro. In his 14 games with the Packers last season, Parsons recorded 12.5 sacks and elevated the team's defense to a championship level.

The thought of Green Bay getting an even better defender back is exciting — even if the team has to wait a few weeks into the regular season. Parsons isn't committing to a timeline, but he did say a Week 6 return to face his former team, the Dallas Cowboys, is possible.

He knows it will take a lot of work to make that happen, but the star defender is putting in all the work he can. Ultimately, how Parsons' body responds will determine when he's back on the field, but he's determined to debut a never-before-seen version of himself whenever that is.
