NFL analyst predicts Packers will steal Jaire Alexander replacement from NFC North

The drama!

We've got a real doozy for you today.

Not only is there a new free agent prediction out on the internet today that has the Green Bay Packers replacing Jaire Alexander with a star cornerback, but they're also -- supposedly -- doing that by stealing one of their NFC North rival's best players. It is extremely The Good Stuff. If there's one thing better than the Packers upgrading in the offseason, it's the rest of the NFC North getting worse.

CBS Sports knows how to play the hits, which is what makes their latest round of NFL free agent predictions all the more juicy.

They went through some of this offseason's biggest names, and decided to lean into the most chaos possible and predict that Packers GM Brian Gutekunst will go steal Minnesota Vikings cornerback Byron Murphy.

CBS Sports thinks Packers will sign Vikings' CB Byron Murphy this offseason

"Switching sides in the NFC North? Byron Murphy is one of the top cornerbacks hitting the open market this offseason, and he was named to his first Pro Bowl after recording 81 combined tackles, 14 passes defensed and a whopping six interceptions," writes Jordan Dajani of CBS Sports.

Now THAT is a prediction. Shouts to CBS Sports for absolutely sending it here. I can't decide whether they actually think that Murphy would be a good fit in Green Bay – which he would, especially in the likelihood that the Packers move on from Jaire Alexander at some point this offseason – or if they just like being as messy as possible. Either way, I'm into it.

On top of all that, Murphy's a stud. He's only 27 and just came off a season that had him ranked as Pro Football Focus' 33rd-best corner in football (out of over 200). He led the league in interceptions (6) last season, and finished sixth in solo tackles (69). But none of that really matters as much as the fact that he would no longer be on the Vikings. Murphy and Myles Garrett in the same offseason? The Packers might be onto something here.
