The Green Bay Packers have shown their willingness to build around Jordan Love over the past two offseasons. They gave him a four-year, $220 million contract extension with $160.3 million in guaranteed money last year, while adding All-Pro running back Josh Jacobs in free agency and using a first-round pick on offensive tackle Jordan Morgan.

That continued into this offseason, when Green Bay signed offensive guard Aaron Banks and gave offensive tackle Zach Tom a big-money extension. The Packers used their first three picks of the 2025 NFL Draft to select wide receiver Matthew Golden, offensive tackle Anthony Belton, and wide receiver Savion Williams. The first selection was notable as it marked the first time the Packers used a first-round pick on a wide receiver in 23 years.

With plenty of investment into the offense -- which finished eighth in scoring and fifth in total yards last season -- there has been plenty of speculation that Love could be due for another jump in production. Dan Graziano of ESPN recently predicted that Green Bay's quarterback will be an MVP candidate in 2025.

Love was able to smoothly transition into a starting role following the departure of Aaron Rodgers in 2023. Graziano believes that this could be the year the first-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft becomes an MVP candidate.

"They drafted Matthew Golden in the first round to add a potential true No. 1 WR to Love's already deep wide receiver corps. They also have depth at tight end, an impact running back in Josh Jacobs and a strong offensive line," Graziano writes. "If the Packers can improve their performance against the league's top contenders and Love can stay healthy, they are set up to win a lot of games this season. And if they do that, their quarterback is going to be a top MVP candidate."

Love showed that he is capable of playing at an MVP level in the second half of the 2023 season, his first year as a starter. Over the final eight weeks of the season, he threw for 2,150 yards, 18 touchdowns, and just one interception. He completed 70.3 percent of his passes, while posting a 112.7 passer rating and leading the Packers to a 6-2 record.

His performance continued into the first postseason game of his career, as he led the Packers to a road victory over the Dallas Cowboys, throwing for 272 yards, three touchdowns, and no interceptions while completing 76.2 percent of his pass attempts and posting a 157.2 passer rating.

Love was unable to reach that level in 2024 after suffering a knee injury, followed by groin and elbow issues, but he could be in line for a big year if he is able to stay healthy.
