Packers catch massive break in Week 14 due to huge Lions injury update

Do the Lions even have enough players anymore?

I certainly don't need to tell you, but Thursday night's Packers game in Detroit is a big one. On the surface, it's probably the last chance that Green Bay has to get back into the NFC North title hunt.

If they drop another division game, that'd probably be curtains – being three losses behind the Lions with four games to play would be an awfully tough hill to climb, and they'd still have to deal with the Vikings.

On a more personal level, it's just a good ol' fashioned revenge game. Detroit kinda, sorta embarrassed the Packers during their first meeting earlier this season, handing them, to date, their worst loss of the season. Playoff seeding is certainly on the line, but it's really a pride game more than anything else.

And despite the Lions looking borderline unbeatable, especially at home, there's good news for the Packers: literally no one is playing. Don't roll your eyes, it's true! The Lions' final injury report of the week dropped on Wednesday, and it's just another reminder of how many guys on that team are seriously hurt.

Lions injury report is maybe the best news that the Packers have gotten all week

With Reader and Onwuzurike officially out, that leaves the Lions with one (1) single starter on the defensive line from the beginning of the season. How they've managed to stay afloat through all these injuries is not something worth thinking too hard about – you'll find yourself in a dark, mysterious place. Just chalk it up to Dan Campbell's insane caffeine intake and keep it moving.

This is it. This is the moment the Packers have been waiting for. Not to be dramatic, but IT ALL COMES DOWN TO THIS. If Green Bay can't steal a game from a Lions team that's playing basically their entire practice squad in a game that probably doesn't mean nearly as much to them as it does the Packers, then Matt LaFleur and Co. have no business competing for the division title in the first place.

This is the Packers' pre-Super Bowl Super Bowl.
