The Green Bay Packers are currently 4-1-1, sitting atop the NFC North.

However, with the Detroit Lions 5-2, the Chicago Bears 4-2, and the Minnesota Vikings 3-3, the Packers know their work is far from done. Green Bay already has a good team, on both sides of the ball, but franchises that are serious about contending are usually aggressive at the trade deadline, filling in any remaining roster holes.

The Packers don’t have many gaps, but there are a few trade candidates the team should target ahead of the November 4 deadline. One of those candidates is New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave, and according to a recent report from CBS Sports insider Jonathan Jones, the veteran wideout could be on the move.

Packers could have the chance to acquire Chris Olave ahead of the trade deadline

Jones detailed how New Orleans had been trying to extend Olave, who has one year left on his contract after this current season. However, the Saints haven’t gotten a deal done with the receiver yet, and Jones believes that could be a sign that the team may be considering moving the receiver.

New Orleans is 1-6 after seven weeks, and clearly in the middle of a rebuild, so it would make sense for the team to be sellers at the trade deadline.

This season, Olave has been able to stay on the field and has continued to be the Saints’ top receiver. In seven games, he has 44 receptions for 440 yards and three touchdowns. He’s also coming off his best game of the season, catching five passes for 98 yards and two touchdowns, in a loss to the Chicago Bears.

Olave’s production is also why the Saints might not want to move him; he’s a great option for New Orleans’ young quarterbacks. If the Saints are open for business, though, the Packers should absolutely be on New Orleans’ line.

Olave would be a great addition to Green Bay’s productive receiving room, and he would absolutely elevate the unit.
