Evan Williams intercepted J.J. McCarthy and followed it by leading a "Skol" chant in the end zone to mock the Green Bay Packers' NFC North visitors.

The Packers destroyed the Minnesota Vikings with a much-needed home victory to keep pace with the Chicago Bears in the NFC North. It raises further questions about McCarthy's future in Minnesota, and Williams cranked it up a notch in his postgame interview.

"That was one of the easiest picks I'm gonna get this year," Williams said, via Matt Schneidman of The Athletic.

He's not wrong, either. McCarthy kindly threw it right to him. Williams barely had to move.

The Packers' defense knew they'd have an opportunity to make life miserable for the Vikings' second-year quarterback. He has struggled with accuracy and turned the ball over for fun in recent weeks. That was always bound to continue if the Green Bay pass rush could throw him off his rhythm.

McCarthy completed just 12 of 19 passes for 87 yards, no touchdowns, and two interceptions, for a passer rating of 34.2. Many felt like the Packers' defense could get him benched, and the Vikings may have no other choice after this performance.

Minnesota's McCarthy experiment is failing, but with Carson Wentz injured, it doesn't have an obvious option. Kevin O'Connell may need to sit McCarthy for his own sake, rather than as a move to win football games. His team is 4-7 and all but finished in the NFC North. They should've signed Aaron Rodgers, after all.

Jeff Hafley's defense is beginning to force turnovers, something this unit lacked earlier in the season. Admittedly, it helps when you face Jameis Winston and J.J. McCarthy in back-to-back weeks, but this unit now has three picks in the past two games, including two for Williams.

He is quietly the Packers' breakout star on defense. Williams was already having an excellent second season, but now the consecutive takeaways have taken it up a level.

But he's right: McCarthy couldn't have thrown it to him better if he had tried. He'll take that any day.
