Within seconds of the preseason beginning, the Green Bay Packers had a special teams penalty and a dropped pass. Normal service has resumed. Unfortunately, the biggest concern came on the sidelines.
Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed is dealing with a foot injury that kept him out of the preseason opener, but fans are now concerned after he was spotted in a walking boot. Carson Fowler of WRFV Local 5 posted a picture of Reed with a boot on his left foot.
Injuries are beginning to pile up for the Packers this summer, and they can't afford to be without Reed for long.
Jayden Reed injury update leaves Packers fans concerned at the beginning of preseason
The Packers are missing several key starters due to injury, including All-Pro safety Xavier McKinney, but the Reed update is surprising.
Reed had dealt with a toe issue earlier in camp, which Matt LaFleur believed was due to his cleats. He returned and looked good at practice this past week, but he then missed Thursday's session due to a foot injury. That's the only information provided.
Whether it's related to his previous injury is unclear, but it's always concerning to see a player wearing a walking boot.

Hopefully, it's nothing serious and the Packers are simply being cautious.
While the Packers have strong depth at wide receiver, they are now dealing with several injuries at the position. Along with Reed, Green Bay is missing Dontayvion Wicks and rookie Savion Williams in the preseason opener, while Christian Watson continues his recovery from a torn ACL.
Wicks and Williams aren't expected to miss much time, although Watson will almost certainly begin the season on the PUP list.
Hopefully, the Packers will provide a positive update on Reed.
A walking boot doesn't necessarily mean there's reason for concern, but it's a question LaFleur will undoubtedly face when he speaks with the media.
