As the Green Bay Packers make their way through training camp, they have unfortunately had multiple players sidelined with injury. Key players like Jordan Love, Xavier McKinney, and Nate Hobbs are all dealing with things keeping them out. However, many of the injuries are being viewed as minor, with multiple players having relatively short return timetables.

One player who sustained an injury early in camp that’s already back on the field is Rasheed Walker. The veteran offensive lineman injured his groin near the beginning of camp and has missed the last couple of weeks. He returned to practice on Tuesday, and now finds himself in a position battle for the left tackle spot he started at last season.

Since being back on the field, Walker has split first team reps with Jordan Morgan.

Walker was drafted in the seventh round of the 2022 Draft by Green Bay. As a rookie, he appeared in just one game, but by his second season, he started 15 games at tackle and played in all 17. In 2024, he started every game at left tackle for the Packers.

Walker was hoping that would continue going into 2025, but Walker’s injury opened the door for Jordan Morgan to showcase his skills with the starting unit. Morgan in a first-round pick, selected 25th overall in the 2024 Draft. He started just one game, and played in six, in 2024, but the Packers clearly have high expectations for him as a first-round pick. Now, after getting reps with the top unit, he’s going to try his best to hold on to the position.

Walker certainly isn’t going to go down without a fight, so it’ll be interesting to see how both perform for the rest of training camp and the preseason. It’ll also be interesting to see how the Packers manage their reps. Whoever emerges as the top guy must be ready to deliver Green Bay some stellar offensive line play.
