Packers immediately dragged into the chaos of Brian Daboll's Giants firing

Great, just great.

The Green Bay Packers face the New York Giants in Week 11. Initially, this was a game that was undoubtedly viewed as an "easy" game (if there is such a thing as those in the NFL). That might not be the case anymore.

On Monday, the Giants relieved Brian Daboll of his head coaching duties after going an underwhelming 20-40-1 in three and a half years on the job. This decision was overdue but Packers fans maybe wish the Giants could have waited another week to pull the trigger here.

With Daboll's firing, the Giants have turned to offensive coordinator Mike Kafka to take over as the head coach. They also might be rolling with backup quarterback Russell Wilson after rookie first-rounder Jaxson Dart was injured in the Week 10 loss to Chicago. This could lead to an example of "We're out to prove ourselves" when the Packers roll into MetLife Stadium on Sunday.

Packers find themselves wrapped up in the chaos of Brian Daboll’s downfall

The hope is that the Packers can still win this game and not let the Giants have the "we're out to prove ourselves" storyline that tends to follow interim head coaches as they're finding their footing. Kafka will be hoping to prove himself as a head coach, however, and whether he has Dart or Wilson as his quarterback for this game, either guy has a case to also be proving himself.

Dart is still a rookie in the league and hoping to showcase himself as the future of the Giants franchise. Wilson, meanwhile, was benched early in the year so that Dart could take over and he's still out to prove that he can still sling it and be a starter in this league.

Packers fans certainly won't be feeling as good about this game as they might have previously felt. Throw in that this team lost to the Browns and the Panthers already and fans aren't thinking the Packers are invincible by any means. No, this will likely be a game that comes down to the wire, unfortunately.
