Both the Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers will miss key players due to injury in Week 12, but it's the visitors that have the far greater concerns.

The 49ers desperately need a win to stay in the NFC playoff race, especially with a tough upcoming schedule. However, they take on the Packers without quarterback Brock Purdy, edge-rusher Nick Bosa, Trent Williams, and several other players due to injury. Williams was questionable entering the game but he will not play.

Losing Purdy is significant, as it forces the 49ers to start backup quarterback Brandon Allen.

It's still a Kyle Shanahan-led offense, so the Packers can't take the Niners lightly, especially without Jaire Alexander and Edgerrin Cooper available. Alexander said he is dealing with a PCL tear that leaves his status for the upcoming games unknown, including a Thanksgiving Day battle with the Miami Dolphins four days from now.

Cooper suffered a hamstring injury during practice and will miss this game against the 49ers.

The Packers aim to get revenge on the 49ers for their playoff exit in January. A win would give them a three-game lead in the wild-card standings and the head-to-head tiebreaker. Due to injury, it's not the same 49ers team from back then, but the Packers can never overlook them. We all remember the 2019 NFC Championship Game when Jimmy Garoppolo only had to attempt eight passes in a blowout win.

Along with the players San Francisco has ruled out, it is still without star linebacker Dre Greenlaw, who intercepted Jordan Love twice in the playoffs. Former Packers linebacker De'Vondre Campbell has started in his place. Matt LaFleur may target this matchup, as Campbell has struggled this season.

A win would put the Packers 8-3 ahead of an important Thanksgiving clash with the Dolphins. This is a huge game.
