Packers inactives list for Week 9 game against Lions
- Jordan Love is active
- Packers without Jaire Alexander and Evan Williams
The Green Bay Packers will have Jordan Love and Josh Jacobs, but the defense is without Jaire Alexander and Evan Williams against the Detroit Lions in Week 9.
The best teams overcome adversity, and it often serves them well later in the season. The Packers have faced plenty in the first half of the season, from two injuries to Jordan Love to bouncing back from a tough home loss to the Minnesota Vikings.
Today, the Lions come to town. Despite losing Aidan Hutchinson for the year, the Lions have had almost everything go their way on the field. They are winning and winning well, outscoring their past three opponents by 78 points. Packers safety Xavier McKinney accused them of trying to embarrass their opponents.
The Packers will have to do it the hard way in Week 9. Love is available but likely less than 100 percent, and the defense will miss Alexander and Williams. It's not ideal against the league's No. 1 scoring offense, but the Packers must find a way. The Lions are also dealing with injuries in this game.

The absence of Alexander and Williams will cause a reshuffle of the entire secondary. Rookie Javon Bullard shined in the slot but must now move back to safety, which also means Keisean Nixon must slide inside after playing outside admirably. The Packers will need Eric Stokes and Carrington Valentine to play well on the outside.
The good news is that Williams isn't expected to miss much time. Cheesehead TV's Aaron Nagler reported that there aren't any long-term concerns, which bodes well for a return after the bye week.

On top of missing several players due to injury, the Lions are also without wide receiver Jameson Williams due to suspension. He had been enjoying a breakout season, with 17 catches for 361 yards and three touchdowns in the opening six games. Defenses have to respect his game-changing speed, and his absence will impact Jeff Hafley's game plan.
