Green Bay Packers fans can relax. Despite missing practice earlier this week to leave his status for the game in doubt, Josh Jacobs is officially active for Week 15 against the Denver Broncos.
Jacobs has been battling a knee injury since the win over the New York Giants. While there is no significant long-term concern, he's fought through the pain after jamming his leg on the MetLife turf four weeks ago. But as seemed likely earlier today, Jacobs is good to go and will play.
And Jacobs isn't alone. The Packers added Emanuel Wilson to the injury report on Saturday due to illness, but he is active. For a moment, it looked like Green Bay may have to play without its top two running backs versus an elite Denver defense, but fortunately they are OK.
Josh Jacobs, Lukas Van Ness are officially active for Packers' huge game against Broncos in Week 15
The good news doesn't end there. Lukas Van Ness, who has only played a handful of snaps since suffering a foot injury in Week 6, will make his return. He can help fix some of the run defense concerns of late, as the Packers can have him line up inside after the loss of Devonte Wyatt.
Here is the Packers' full list of inactives for their Week 15 game:
- RB Pierre Strong Jr.
- OL Donovan Jennings
- DL Quinton Bohanna
- WR Savion Williams
- DL Nazir Stackhouse
- DL Barryn Sorrell
Strong being inactive is the clearest sign that Jacobs and Wilson are ready for their usual workload. The Packers won't have rookie wide receiver Savion Williams available, though, as he continues to battle a foot injury. Jayden Reed will likely take many of Williams' potential snaps out of the backfield and in the slot.
The Packers get the best possible injury news with their inactives, but they must now overcome a daunting challenge against a red-hot Broncos team.
