In the NFL, teams are never satisfied, as they believe there is always work to do. The Green Bay Packers made that clear on Monday by adding another wide receiver on the cusp of training camp.
According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the Packers have signed rookie wide receiver Will Sheppard, who played for Colorado last season.
Sheppard is an intriguing receiver, but his addition to the Packers roster has some fans wondering why the franchise decided to make this move.

Green Bay already has its fair share of young wide receiver talent. With Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs, Christian Watson, and Dontayvion Wicks already on the roster, the Packers drafted Matthew Golden and Savion Williams this offseason, and also signed Mecole Hardman.
Unless Green Bay had the opportunity to add a clear No. 1 wideout, no one really expected the team to acquire more receivers. Nevertheless, Sheppard will be joining the room for camp.

As far as Sheppard, he’s a 6-foot-2 receiver with a knack for contested catches. In college, he spent four years at Vanderbilt, catching 152 passes for 2,067 yards and 21 touchdowns. He spent his last season at Colorado, where he became the jump-ball receiver for Shedeur Sanders. In 13 games with the Buffs, he caught 48 passes for 621 yards and six touchdowns.
Sheppard had a slow start at Colorado, but once he found his rhythm, and role in a crowd receiver room that included three pass catchers who were drafted this year, he became nearly unstoppable on go-up-and-get-it throws from Sanders. He’ll now try to bring those skills to Green Bay.

While Sheppard was the one draft-eligible receiver from Colorado who didn’t get drafted, he was immediately signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent.
However, the deal fell through as Sheppard failed his physical for an unreported reason. He then participated with the Denver Broncos during mandatory minicamp as a tryout player, and now he’s in Green Bay for training camp.
