With their 2025 season now officially at an end following a 31-27 loss to the rival Chicago Bears in the Wild Card Round, the Green Bay Packers will now turn their attention toward the 2026 NFL offseason.
Naturally, the Packers (and Cheeseheads everywhere) have to be disappointed with how the '25 campaign ended, but one has to wonder how things would have played out had Micah Parsons and Devonte Wyatt not suffered season-ending injuries late in the year, as the loss of those two defensive stars obviously contributed to Green Bay's collapse over the final month of the regular season.
Jordan Love suffering a concussion in the Packers' Week 16 loss to the Bears certainly didn't help matters either, as a win over Chicago that day would've put them in complete control of the NFC North, which, of course, would've meant the difference in postseason seeding.
But what's done is done, and the Packers now simply have to move forward.
A year ago at this time, Green Bay didn't have to worry about losing a lot of key contributors, as the biggest names hitting free agency were center Josh Myers, cornerback Eric Stokes, and running back AJ Dillon.

This offseason, however, the Packers have several starters set to hit free agency, a list that includes offensive linemen Sean Rhyan and Rasheed Walker, wide receiver Romeo Doubs, linebacker Quay Walker, and edge rusher Kingsley Enagbare.
Backup quarterback Malik Willis, who played fantastic football when filling in for Love over the past two seasons, is also set to hit the open market and will likely look for a locale where he can compete for the starting job. Backup running back Emanuel Wilson, who made the most of his opportunities when Josh Jacobs was injured at times this past season, will hit the market as well, but he's at least a restricted free agent, meaning the Packers can match any offer he receives if they want to bring him back.
Now, the Packers could have a problem re-signing any of these players or adding some external free agents, as they're currently projected by Over The Cap to be more than $11 million over the 2026 salary cap, and that's not even including the money they'll have to dish out to draft picks.
Of course, contracts can (and will) be restructured and players can (and will) be released to create space, but we'll just have to wait and see how things play out between now and the start of the new League Year at 3:00 p.m. CT on March 11.
