The Green Bay Packers sat back and relaxed on Day 1 of the 2026 NFL Draft, but that will all change on Friday.

Despite Jeff Hafley's Miami Dolphins stealing the Packers' dream target in Chris Johnson, Green Bay can still address its need at cornerback in Rounds 2 or 3. The team must also upgrade the pass rush.

Trading up has become a realistic option, and one Brian Gutekunst should entertain, but he will have plenty of options if he decides to let the board fall to him.

Packers add the pass-rusher, cornerback they need in Day 2 mock draft

Round 2 (52): Dani-Dennis Sutton, Edge, Penn State

Gutekunst could trade up to land a top target at cornerback or edge-rusher, but the board fell kindly to the Packers after Round 1. They have options. Pairing Micah Parsons with another talented Penn State pass-rusher, Dani-Dennis Sutton, would give Jonathan Gannon's defense a significant boost.

Sutton isn't just one of the best athletes at his position in this class, but over the past four decades. His 9.96 Relative Athletic Score ranks ninth among 2,257 defensive ends since 1987. Is that good? It sounds pretty good if you ask us.

While Sutton might not have the same sky-high upside as some other pass-rushers in this class, he can undoubtedly make an impact. He recorded 17 sacks in his final two seasons at Penn State while also offering strong run defense. The Packers need that. Sutton has the athleticism the Packers love, and he never gives up on a play. That trait alone would make him Parsons' best friend.

Round 3 (84): Daylen Everette, CB, Georgia

The Packers can wait until Round 3 and still land a quality cornerback. It speaks to the depth of this year's class. Daylen Everette checks a lot of boxes, starting with the fact that he played his college football at Georgia, and we know how much Gutekunst loves drafting Bulldogs.

Everette also has the size, length, and athleticism Gutekunst typically prefers at cornerback. He ran a 4.38-second 40-yard dash and earned an elite 9.89 Relative Athletic Score. That matters for the Packers.

He also featured in 55 games across four seasons for Georgia, which should serve him well as a potential Day 1 starter in the NFL. Everette intercepted four passes and defended 13 in his final two seasons in Athens.

It's unclear whether the Packers will need to target Everette in the second round, but if he falls to the third, this would be an easy choice.
