Not a bad way to introduce yourself to your new team.

You only get one chance at a first impression, and Nate Hobbs may have just nailed his.

Hobbs, who signed a four-year deal worth up to $48 million with Green Bay last week, figures to be an integral part of a Packers secondary that will look significantly different than in year's past.

Especially as the Jaire Alexander trade saga drags on, the secondary's been a major point of concern with Packers fans this offseason. But while speaking to ESPN's Packers insider Rob Demovsky recently, Hobbs gave fans a brief reprieve from the panic with a quote that'll either age wonderfully or like the worst glass of warm milk you've ever had in your life. (We all drink warm milk, right?)

Nate Dobbs has sky-high expectations for the Packers' secondary in 2025

"Although Hobbs played primarily in the slot in recent seasons with the Raiders, the Packers plan to give him a shot to play on the perimeter, where he would likely be paired with another former Raiders player, Keisean Nixon. The two played together with the Raiders for one season, Hobbs' rookie year of 2021. The 2022 season was the only time that Hobbs played more snaps on the outside than in the slot for the Raiders ... 'Think it'd be legendary,' Hobbs said when asked about a Hobbs-Nixon pairing at cornerback. 'I think Keisean is a little bit like me. He's a versatile player. He can play inside, outside, and he does kick return, punt return -- and he takes it to the house when he does it. So I think he's a good player, and I think it'll be great.'"

This is the stuff that Offseason Content is made of. One single four-word response is going to feed Packers blogs for at least 48 hours, and I think that's beautiful. 'Legendary' is definitely the word that first comes to Packers fan's minds when they think of a Dobbs-Nixon pairing, so I can see why he thinks that too.

And now's not the time to debate whether or not that's actually true. That sounds boring. The important takeaway from this is that Hobbs thinks the Packers' secondary – and by default, the defense, and actually the offense too – is going to be legendary, and I agree. It's a flawless argument. Green Bay got a good one.
