Packers' newest draft pick wins over fans instantly after emotional entrance

It's getting a little dusty in here.

Day 3 of the draft is it's own unique thing.

And when I say that, what I mean is that it's for the sickos. Only a very specific type of person sticks around on a late-spring Saturday afternoon to watch ESPN's third-string draft analysts get their hopes up about how their favorite football team may have just landed a great new special teamser. It's either that or golf.

But every once in a while, staying tuned in to the Day 3 broadcast pays off. The occasional good moment finds its way through the slog of Pick Is In chimes, and almost makes watching the 4th round โ€“ย or, at least, paying attention on Twitter โ€“ย worth it. For the Packers, that moment came when they took Texas edge rusher Barryn Sorrell with the 124th pick.

Barryn Sorrell's celebration may be the best moment of the entire Packers' draft weekend

That is The Good Stuff. Being a Day 3 pick and still being able to get introduced by Roger Goodell, do the draft walk, and be embraced by the fans of the team that just drafted you? If I didn't know any better, I'd say that's (quite literally) a made-for-TV moment.

Also, what a way to introduce yourself to the fans. You know Sorrell's going to be a fan favorite during training camp in large part because of this moment. It helps that the Packers desperately needed an edge rusher now that they have 185 wide receivers, but still โ€“ this is how you make the most of your moment. Honestly, the NFL should have let every Packers pick do that walk. And maybe it'd make the event, like, three hours long, but also: if you're voluntarily watching Day 3 of the draft, it's not like you're going to complain about that.
