I'm not going to pretend that this blog is mature. I'm not going to sit here and act like I'm not being petty and small, or that writing any of this is even necessary. In fact, I'd probably argue that it's not.
But that's not how NFL fandom operates. NFL fandom works in mysterious ways, and by "mysterious" I mean "extremely pedantic." But Aaron Rodgers knows all about that, so I like to think we're speaking the same language here.

If you missed it, it was reported over the weekend that the Jets have officially told Rodgers that they're moving on from him this offseason. As it turns out, new Jets head coach Aaron Glenn isn't keen on hitching his wagon to an unreliable 41-year old quarterback who doesn't exactly look like he has a ton left in the tank. So, reportedly, thus ends the Aaron Rodgers era in New York. It was good for exactly zero (0) cool moments. Impressive, really.
And while seeing Rodgers in a Titans jersey will be the ultimate vindication, Packers fans can get a head start and take some solace in an undeniable truth: Green Bay won the trade. It's official. Pop the champagne.
Aaron Rodgers' tenure with the Jets proves that the Packers were right all along
"BREAKING: The Jets informed Aaron Rodgers in a meeting last week that they will be moving on from him, per Jay Glazer," Meriov tweeted on Sunday morning. "His time with the Jets is over."
So, to be clear: in the Great Aaron Rodgers Trade, the Jets got basically one year of meh quarterback play and a lot of off-field headaches, while the Packers got draft picks that turned into Luke Musgrave, Edgerrin Cooper, and Evan Williams (and Lukas Van Ness, but never let the details get in the way of a good argument). And now Rodgers is looking for, what? A starting job from literally anyone offering? A backup job on a playoff team? I refuse to acknowledge the likelihood he ends up in Minnesota until I see him holding up a purple Vikings jersey in an introductory press conference.
So there you go. The debate's over. The Packers won the Aaron Rodgers trade. Not going to lie, it feels good. There are few things in life as rewarding as being right about something on the internet. Here's to hoping this feeling lasts all the way until next Toyotathon.
