Packers reportedly met with a secret QB ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft

Well, this is certainly an intriguing development.

At the time of this writing, the Green Bay Packers hold eight selections in the 2026 NFL Draft, which kicks off with Round 1 on Thursday night in Pittsburgh.

With their eight picks, the Packers certainly have plenty of holes to fill on both sides of the football. The needs are more on defense, as cornerback, edge rusher, and defensive tackle could all use an upgrade, but adding to the offensive line and some depth in the running back room wouldn't hurt either.

One position that nobody has really talked about much is quarterback. Sure, Malik Willis left to become the new starter for the Miami Dolphins, but even without the strongest support system behind Jordan Love in Desmond Ridder and Kyle McCord, it didn't seem very likely that Green Bay would use one of its eight picks on a QB.

Not only has GM Brian Gutekunst brought that possibility into play, but it's been revealed that the Packers have officially met with a pair of signal-callers, and one of them is apparently being kept a secret.

Packers reportedly met with a QB, but his identity is being kept under wraps

Bill Huber of our pals over at Packers on SI recently put together a Green Bay-only mock draft based only on top-30 visits, which is a fun way to do things.

At the end of his mock, he listed each player the Packers have met with (or gave a clever description of each, that is), breaking things down by position.

For quarterback, the first said "Tough-as-nails QB," and when you click on the link, you get to a more detailed assessment of Texas Tech's Behren Morton. But the second simply said "Top-secret visit," and as it turns out, Huber was asked not to report the name.

Now, I can't even begin to think who the Packers would need this level of secrecy for, as this is a very weak quarterback class from an overall standpoint.

Honestly, once you get past presumed No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza and Ty Simpson, you get into guys that are late Day 2 and into Day 3 picks at best. So, again, exactly who Green Bay met with and feels it needs to hide is anyone's guess.
