The Green Bay Packers have several problems to address in the offseason. Cornerback and edge-rusher sit near the top of the list.

Fortunately, even without a first-round pick thanks to the Micah Parsons trade, the Packers will have opportunities to land upgrades at both positions. A recent mock draft by FanSided's Cody Williams is proof of that.

Williams has Green Bay landing Tennessee cornerback Colton Hood in the second round at No. 52 overall, followed by Penn State pass-rusher Dani Dennis-Sutton in the third round at No. 84. Both players not only address major needs, arguably the Packers' two biggest concerns, but they could each make an instant impact.

Colton Hood and Dani Dennis-Sutton would be a dream haul for the Green Bay Packers

The Packers desperately need reinforcements at cornerback. Keisean Nixon produced inconsistent play as the team's CB1, while Carrington Valentine didn't deliver in a full-time starting role. The team could move on from Nate Hobbs just one year after handing him a $48 million contract in free agency.

That's where Hood could step in.

As Williams writes in the mock draft, Hood found himself in the spotlight in Tennessee's defense last season, and he used it to dramatically improve his draft stock.

"Tennessee not having Jermod McCoy this past season due to injury forced Colton Hood into far more of the spotlight than he otherwise would've been. Make no mistake, he wasn't perfect, but he overall performed quite well in coverage, allowing just a 70.8 passer rating when targeted (it was 51.7 in 2024 as well) and was Top 25 in coverage stops as well. He's a better man corner than in zone, and has fluid hips and good instincts on the outside," Williams writes.

The Packers are unlikely to find an all-world cornerback like Patrick Surtain or Sauce Gardner at No. 52 overall. Sure, they could, but that's certainly not the expectation. What they need is more consistency, and Hood can provide that.

Many view Hood as a first-round prospect, which would make him falling to the Packers on Day 2 a dream scenario. Daniel Jeremiah of NFL Network has Hood ranked No. 26 in this year's rookie class, writing that he "should be a very solid starter immediately at the next level."

If the Tennessee product falls into the Packers' range in Round 2, they will have an easy choice.

Green Bay also needs to bolster its pass-rush depth alongside Micah Parsons, especially with Rashan Gary a cut candidate and Kingsley Enagbare hitting free agency.

Interestingly, Dennis-Sutton drew a comparison to Enagbare in his NFL.com draft profile by Lance Zierlein. That's likely due to his ability as a run defender, an area the Packers desperately need to improve this offseason.

It's a deep class for pass-rushers, and the Packers need another quality edge defender to complement Parsons. Dennis-Sutton could be that player, especially on early downs when teams will try to run on them.

Even without a first-round pick, Green Bay can land two immediate difference-makers on defense.
