The Green Bay Packers have turned the page on a less-than-stellar September with an impressive October. They've rattled off a three-game winning streak and will look to stay hot for a pivotal NFC North showdown with the Detroit Lions.
Yes, it's only Week 7, but the outcome of this Packers-Lions clash could have significant ramifications on the divisional race at large. They're fighting to keep pace with the Minnesota Vikings, who remain undefeated heading into their bye. Both clubs have Super Bowl aspirations ... and some outstanding questions worth monitoring.
Can franchise quarterback Jordan Love and Green Bay's passing attack continue clicking? How does starting running back Josh Jacobs' potential return from the Commissioner's Exempt List factor into the equation? Do they have any chance of containing Detroit's superstar tailback, Jahmyr Gibbs, who leads the NFL in combined rushing and receiving touchdowns (nine)?
Consider this your one-stop shop for all things Packers- and Lions-related as the two rivals prepare to go toe-to-toe in Detroit.

Will Josh Jacobs rejoin the Packers?
While Jacobs will get a full week of practice, his status remains up in the air as he gets back into football shape. LaFleur has been noncommittal about the three-time Pro Bowler's availability in Detroit. Time will tell whether this is just gamesmanship.
Jacob's presence (or lack thereof) looms large for a Packers group that has been unable to get anything going on the ground. They're the only squad averaging fewer than three yards per carry (2.9) and rank dead last in rushing yards per game (59.8)
For what it's worth, Jacobs isn't listed on Green Bay's initial injury report ahead of the high-stakes meeting with the Lions. No designation suggests he's all systems go.
Does Kevin Zeitler finally plug in at RG?
Zeitler, 36, signed with the Packers on Sept. 30 and has notably been active in each of their past two matches. He's been limited to special teams duties so far; however, the 15-year veteran is expected to take over at right guard in due course.
Now that he's had time to get his sea legs in Green Bay, why not give Zeitler the nod in the Motor City? His rock-solid decade-plus-long career includes a pit stop with the Lions in 2024.
Lions set to get much-needed reinforcements
Lions starting center Cade Mays and Pro Bowl safety Brian Branch are set to make their 2026 debuts, barring any setbacks. The former was brought in as a free agent this offseason on a three-year, $25 million contract and got hurt in training camp. Meanwhile, the latter should instantly help address a secondary that has struggled mightily.
3 Predictions for Packers vs. Lions
1. Packers still don't get a 50+ yard rusher (even with Josh Jacobs)
Detroit has surrendered the seventh-fewest rushing yards to opposing RBs through six games (422). They're low-key giving up the 11th-most yards per carry to backs (4.26), though their defense has been hemorrhaging yards through the air, as highlighted below. That should translate to another big day for Love and Co., so Jacobs and the running back room probably won't need to do much.
2. Tucker Kraft scores two TDs
No team has surrendered more receptions (51), receiving yards (545) and touchdowns (nine) to tight ends than the Lions. Everyone knows this has been a blind spot for them, too, as evidenced by their league-high target share allowed to the position. Enter Kraft, who's slowly but surely rounding into form as he gets further removed from his torn right ACL last November.
Kraft has posted five-plus targets and receptions in three straight contests. He's also been a factor near the end zone, recording at least one inside-the-20 look in four consecutive outings. It's easy to envision him finding pay dirt — more than once.
3. Packers find a way to win on the road
Green Bay's starting to find its groove on both sides of the ball. Love is operating at a high level, and their stop unit has been a revelation under defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon. They're equipped to exploit the Lions' weaknesses and keep the good times rolling with a fourth successive victory.
Packers 30, Lions 23.
