When the Green Bay Packers faced the Carolina Panthers in Week 9 of the regular season, it looked like they were going to coast to an easy win. However, it wasn't meant to be. Carolina stunned the Packers, leaving Lambeau Field with a 16-13 victory.

Fast forward to 2026, and the Panthers' social media team made sure to remind the Packers about the soul-crushing loss in light of High Point's upset over Wisconsin in March Madness.

Wisconsin fell to High Point, losing 83-82 after Nick Boyd's last-minute layup was blocked. The Badgers were knocked out even though they were the No. 5 seed, and the Panthers were No. 12 entering the tournament.

The Panthers took a shot at the Packers after the High Point win vs. Wisconsin

Of course, the Panthers' social media team couldn't pass up the chance to pour salt in the wound, posting a tweet that reminded everyone that this is the second time, dating back to November, that a Panthers team has pulled up an upset against a team from Wisconsin.

The post reads, "Something about Panthers and beating Wisconsin teams."

To make matters worse, this is the third time in seven years that the Badgers are No. 5 and lose to the No. 12 seed. In 2019, they lost 72-54 to Oregon. More recently, James Madison beat Wisconsin 72-61 in 2024. This is a long-winded way to say that they have a recurring problem facing the No. 12 seed when they're No. 5.

The Packers would surely love to forget the loss to the Panthers

Leaving aside that the Packers were supposed to crush Carolina in Week 9 because they were the better team, the loss stung for plenty of reasons they'd surely like to forget. For starters, it was the first time that Micah Parsons didn't register a single pressure in a game in his NFL career. On the other hand, Brandon McManus missed a field goal, with head coach Matt LaFleur trying to justify the failed attempt by saying that the veteran kicker "was battling through his own issues."

To make matters worse, that was the game when Green Bay lost star tight end Tucker Kraft for the year after suffering an ACL tear. Simply put, this was one of their lowest points in the regular season.

By pointing it out after the High Point upset, you could make the case that the Panthers went for the long-hanging fruit. However, it's not that deep. Simply, they're having fun, and the Packers would surely do something similar if they were in the same position.

In the end, High Point is surely thrilled about the upset over Wisconsin, and you cannot blame the Panthers for joining in the fun.
