Musgrave's resume

A glance at Musgrave's raw numbers undersells the impact the Packers, as well as many draft analysts, expect him to have.

After a solid third season with the Beavers where he caught 22 passes for 304 yards in 10 games, Musgrave's senior 2022 outing was cut short by a knee injury.

In the two appearances he made last fall, he caught 11 passes for 169 yards and a score, thus putting him on pace for a standout final collegiate season.

Even though some may be concerned with Musgrave's limited statistical output, there is reason to believe the 22-year-old is poised for a strong NFL career.

Musgrave's route running abilities have been regarded as his biggest strength, and having a player so technically sound from the jump will be huge for Jordan Love as he adjusts to his starting role.

The ability to get open is further aided by Musgrave's speed and athleticism, which he displayed on the field and during the draft combine.

Whether it was running the 40-yard dash in 4.61 seconds or averaging 15.4 yards per catch before his injury, Musgrave has already shown off his physical strengths.

Additionally, Musgrave comes from a football family. His uncle, Bill Musgrave, carved out an NFL career as a quarterback and a long-time offensive coordinator. Luke's dad, Doug Musgrave, also played quarterback during his time at the University of Oregon.

With so much knowledge surely having been passed down, the Oregon State product may already have a good handle on what an NFL team needs from its top tight end.

On draft night, NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah compared Musgrave to Greg Olsen, which shouldn't go unnoticed. As a pass catcher, the rookie has just about every intangible you'd want at his position.

His addition alone could patch the Packers' longstanding issues, but it's the addition of Tucker Kraft that puts the cherry on top of this revitalized position group.
