Packers should sign free agent Teddy Bridgewater to back up Jordan Love

Former first-round pick Teddy Bridgewater would be the perfect backup quarterback for Jordan Love. Bridgewater has taken on that exact role in recent years with the New Orleans Saints and Miami Dolphins.

According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, "several teams" have shown interest in signing Bridgewater, who is a free agent this offseason. Bridgewater would be a great choice to back up Love this season.

In 2019, Bridgewater filled in for an injured Drew Brees for five games. In that time, he threw for 1,384 yards, nine touchdowns, and two interceptions, leading New Orleans to five straight victories. He helped save the Saints' season.

Bridgewater started 14 games for the Denver Broncos in 2021, throwing for 3,052 yards, 18 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. Denver went 7-7 in those games.

Last year, Bridgewater was backup to Tua Tagovailoa for the Miami Dolphins.

Not only is Bridgewater experienced enough to start games and help the team when needed, but he is well respected around the league. He is a talented player and could help the Packers win games.

Bridgewater has spent time as a backup quarterback in recent years and could take on the same role for the Green Bay Packers this season.
