2. Packers should add a veteran quarterback

Another area the Packers should look to upgrade is the backup quarterback position. If the season started today, rookie Sean Clifford or Danny Etling would be the backup to Jordan Love.

If Love had to miss any time, would the Packers feel comfortable with Clifford or Etling stepping in? Clifford is a fifth-round rookie and Etling has never thrown a pass in the regular season.

The best way forward may be to sign a veteran to take the No. 2 job, then sign Clifford to the practice squad. There's some risk, as the Packers would need to waive Clifford at the end of the summer and hope he doesn't get claimed by another team. But there's a good chance he would clear waivers and end up on the practice squad, where he can develop without needing to play.

A veteran like Teddy Bridgewater, Joe Flacco, or Carson Wentz could be exactly what the Packers need. An experienced quarterback to give advice to Love and help him through his first year as a starter, while also being capable of stepping in if Love misses any time.

Relying on an inexperienced backup like Clifford or Etling would be a huge gamble for the Packers.
