1. Packers must extend Rashan Gary's contract

The most important offseason move Green Bay needs to make is with a player already on the roster. Extending Rashan Gary's contract should be at the top of the to-do list.

Gary is recovering from a torn ACL that ended his season. When healthy, he is one of the best pass rushers in football. He has improved every year and had made an excellent start to 2022 before getting hurt, with six sacks and 12 quarterback hits.

The former first-round pick only has a year remaining on his contract. Green Bay typically does a good job of re-signing its star players ahead of time. One of the few exceptions was Davante Adams, and they ended up losing him.

Yes, Gary is returning from a significant injury, but he is a star. He is 25 years old with years of dominant play ahead of him.

Gary is a player to build around as the Packers enter a new era. He is an outstanding player, both as a pass rusher and run defender.

The Packers need to get a new deal done sooner rather than later. Gary is one of the best edge defenders in the league, and Brian Gutekunst needs to ensure his future is in Green Bay.
