It has been a fascinating offseason in the NFC North. The Green Bay Packers traded away Aaron Rodgers and moved on from several starters.

The Chicago Bears traded away the first overall pick for a boatload of selections and star receiver D.J. Moore. The Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings made some surprising moves.

Green Bay's division rivals made plenty of smart offseason moves, such as Detroit signing C.J. Gardner-Johnson and Chicago's trade-down. However, there were also some 'wow' moments that Packers fans could only laugh at. Here are three.

3. Lions draft Jack Campbell ahead of Nolan Smith

The Lions have drafted well in recent years. They closed out the regular season 8-2 last year, showing why they are ready to compete for their first NFC North title in 2023.

However, they made some surprising moves in the draft.

Detroit owned the No. 18 overall pick, where it selected Iowa inside linebacker Jack Campbell. Take nothing away from Campbell. He will be an excellent player for the Lions. But selecting an inside linebacker with a premium pick was a strange move.

The Lions are building their pass rush. They had the opportunity to form a scary starting duo by adding an edge rusher at No. 18. Georgia's Nolan Smith was on the board.

Aidan Hutchinson and Nolan Smith would've been one of the most exciting young pass-rush duos in football. Instead, the Lions passed on the opportunity, with Smith eventually going to the NFC-champion Philadelphia Eagles.

Detroit also could've drafted one of the top cornerbacks in the class, like Maryland's Deonte Banks.

For the second time in the opening round, the Lions avoided the premium positions, and it made no sense whatsoever.
