3 Packers free agents who left that fans won't miss and 2 they will
Free agency has gone mostly as expected for the Green Bay Packers.
They were never going to be big spenders due to salary cap limitations, especially once Aaron Rodgers announced his intention to play for the New York Jets.
As a result, the Packers have lost several starters and other important role players.
Of the Packers' free agents to find new teams this offseason, there are a few that fans won't miss, but others they will wish had returned.
Green Bay Packers free agents the fans won't miss: Krys Barnes
Take nothing away from Krys Barnes. He is a talented football player. The opportunity for significant playing time just isn't there in Green Bay. Barnes signed with the Arizona Cardinals in free agency after the Packers didn't offer him a restricted free agent tender.
The Packers start with De'Vondre Campbell and Quay Walker at inside linebacker, while Isaiah McDuffie has improved in a backup role.
Campbell is only a year removed from being named a first-team All-Pro and earning a new multi-year contract. Walker was picked 22nd overall in 2022.
Barnes was limited to only six games last season, of which he started just one. While he provided cover when injuries hit at inside linebacker, opportunities were few and far between in 2022.
McDuffie, a sixth-round pick two years ago, looks set to take on Barnes' backup role this season.
