Green Bay Packers free agents we'll wish stayed: Allen Lazard

Allen Lazard is everything you want from a wide receiver. He gives his all in every game, makes plays at crucial moments, and is willing to block when the ball isn't going his way.

Not only was Lazard happy to block, he did an outstanding job of it week in, week out. He finally got the recognition he deserved for his blocking ability against the Miami Dolphins. Lazard blocked three Dolphins defenders on the same play, a highlight that went viral.

Lazard isn't a WR1, but he's a perfect complement. That's the role he will play for Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets this season, playing alongside NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Garrett Wilson. And maybe they will also be joined by free-agent Odell Beckham Jr.

With Lazard gone, the Packers lack experience in their wide receiver corps.

Unfortunately, the Packers' salary cap limitations would've made it challenging to match the four-year, $44 million deal he signed with the Jets. Even if they could, Lazard still may have opted to follow Rodgers to New York.

Lazard might not be a dominant WR1, but he is a reliable, consistent receiver who made play after play when the Packers needed them most. He will be tough to replace.
