3 Packers in danger of losing their job after minicamp
Two things are working against Grant DuBose this summer. First, he hasn't featured in the offseason program due to injury. That's not ideal for a seventh-round rookie trying to learn the offense and show what he can do. Every rep counts for the first-year receivers, and DuBose has missed valuable time.
The second issue is the Packers' wide receiver depth ahead of him.
Second-year receivers Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, and Samori Toure have been impressive during the offseason program. Rookie Jayden Reed has regularly been part of the first-team offense and could start from Day 1 in the slot.
Dontayvion Wicks missed some time due to injury but has made some plays when he has been out there.
Another player to watch is undrafted rookie Malik Heath, who has impressed this offseason and has even been practicing with the starters.
It's safe to assume Heath is way ahead of DuBose as things stand. Heath has been getting important reps and making the most of them.
With such strong competition for roster spots at wide receiver, DuBose's absence hasn't helped his chances of making the 53. The hope is that he will be healthy by the start of training camp and can make an impact.
DuBose needs to make a fast start at training camp, or he could miss out on the 53-man roster.
