3 Packers starters who could be benched with a bad camp
The Green Bay Packers are into their second week of training camp. There have been several notable takeaways from their practices to this point, but there is still so much to figure out in the coming weeks.
We still don't know the Packers' preferred starting five along the offensive line or who will start at safety in Week 1. Which quarterback will back up Jordan Love?
Progress has been made in each positional battle, but they are far from settled as the preseason nears. With that in mind, which three players could lose their starting jobs this summer?
Yosh Nijman
To this point at camp, second-year Zach Tom has been ahead of Yosh Nijman at right tackle. Tom has been getting first-team reps ahead of Nijman for the most part.
However, Tom has also spent time with the first-team offense at center, a job currently held by Josh Myers. If Tom is asked to move inside, Nijman will keep hold of his starting job at right tackle.
Nijman might not even need to outperform Tom to win a starting job. He just needs to beat Myers, despite playing different positions.
Nijman could still win the right tackle job ahead of Tom, but early indications seem to suggest that Tom has moved ahead of him on the depth chart.
