3 Packers players whose stock has fallen ahead of 2023 training camp
Lew Nichols III, RB
Another rookie who could face an uphill battle to make the Packers' 53-man roster this summer is running back Lew Nichols III, who the Packers selected in the seventh round.
Nichols had a quiet offseason program. Again, it's not a big deal with all of training camp and the preseason around the corner. He has more than enough time to prove himself in the next couple of months.
However, Nichols faces tough competition for the RB3 job. It's unlikely that the Packers will keep more than three running backs, and the top two spots belong to Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon.
Second-year Tyler Goodson has been the most impressive running back in this competition so far this summer. As things stand, Goodson likely leads the way in the race for the Packers' RB3 job.
"Tyler Goodson's dynamic presence and ability to impact both the run and passing games is going to make keeping him off the final roster a difficult decision," wrote Paul Bretl of Dairyland Express.
Nichols has it all to do during training camp and the preseason. There's still plenty of time to make an impact, but he may end up spending most of his first season on the Packers' practice squad.
