The Green Bay Packers' opening preseason contest is in the books.

It was a good night for several Packers rookies, including Jayden Reed, Sean Clifford, Carrington Valentine, and Dontayvion Wicks. Head coach Matt LaFleur has plenty of positives to take from the game.

However, not everyone had the start to the preseason they would have hoped for. Some players improved their chances of making the Packers' 53-man roster, but others took a step back.

Here are three players whose stock is plummeting after the preseason opener.

3. Anders Carlson

Anders Carlson's frustrating summer continued in the preseason opener. He looked comfortable early on, making his first four kicks, one a 45-yard field goal. It was looking like the perfect preseason performance for the rookie kicker, but it then fell apart.

Carlson missed his final two kicks of the evening, both extra-point attempts. It's tough. He needs to improve his consistency in the remaining weeks of the preseason. Missing kicks as often as Carlson has can make the difference between winning games and losing them.

It's clear Carlson has the ability to make tough field goals from challenging distances. But consistency was an issue at college, and it has continued all summer.

At what point should the Packers add some competition?
