Bijan Robinson, RB, Texas

Texas running back Bijan Robinson is one of the best draft prospects at any position. If he's on the board at No. 15 overall, the Packers should take him, right? No.

The Packers should never draft a running back in the opening round, and that's especially true this year.

No matter how talented Robinson is, the Packers don't need to invest a premium pick at the position. Aaron Jones is returning to Green Bay, and he is joined by AJ Dillon. Adding some running back depth in the later rounds makes sense, but there's no need to draft Robinson early.

It's easy to see why some fans would like the idea. Robinson rushed for 1,580 yards and 18 touchdowns at Texas last season. He is a phenomenal athlete, dominated at college, and can play on all three downs. Robinson would be a great pick to help a young quarterback.

But the Packers shouldn't draft any running back in the early rounds. Even if they didn't have Jones and Dillon and running back was a top priority, they would still be best waiting until the later rounds.

Robinson can be a star player in the NFL, but the Packers shouldn't draft him.
