Why Packers won't make the playoffs: Lack of experience

For all of the talent the Packers have added on both sides of the ball, they have lost a lot of experience. It could work out beautifully, with Green Bay reaching the playoffs. However, this inexperience may cost them enough games to reach the postseason this year. The Packers could be a team built to succeed in 2024 and beyond, rather than now.

Veteran leaders like Aaron Rodgers, Marcedes Lewis, Randall Cobb, and Mason Crosby are gone. Reliable, experienced players like Allen Lazard, Adrian Amos, and Robert Tonyan are also no longer on the roster.

When the Packers desperately need a first down, they lack the type of connection Rodgers used to have with Davante Adams or Jordy Nelson. That takes time to build.

Jordan Love is inexperienced and will take time. So will his receiving corps. No Packers wide receiver was on the roster 14 months ago.

It's hard not to love the talented, young roster the Packers are building around Love. They can grow together and become an excellent team. Maybe that happens this season. But they are inexperienced, and it may take time for this young roster to reach its potential.

In 2023, that could cost them a playoff berth.
