The Green Bay Packers have almost completed their organized team activities. They will hold their three-day mandatory minicamp next week and then that's it for the offseason program. We won't see the team on the practice field again until training camp in late July.

Impressing at OTAs is just the beginning. It's important to build on that once the pads come on at training camp. But these practices have given many young players an opportunity to show what they can do.

Romeo Doubs, Lukas Van Ness, and Luke Musgrave are among the standout performers, but that's hardly surprising.

Which three players have been surprise standouts so far this offseason?

3. Tyler Goodson, RB

The Packers added running back competition in the draft by selecting Lew Nichols, but it has been second-year Tyler Goodson impressing at OTAs.

Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon are the Packers' top two running backs, but there is competition for the RB3 job this summer. One of the leading candidates is Goodson.

Paul Bretl of Dairyland Express noted that Goodson has been impressive during the Packers' OTAs in recent weeks.

Bretl wrote: "Bringing an Aaron Jones-like style to the running back position, Goodson has shown good vision with the ball in his hands, terrific burst, and has been elusive. In the passing game, we've also seen him lining up in the slot, catching the ball naturally, and then being able to make plays in space."

Bretl adds that special teams and pass protection may have prevented Goodson from making the Packers' 53-man roster last summer, two areas he will need to improve on.

However, it's encouraging to hear that the former undrafted free agent is off to a fast start this offseason. The Packers have strong competition for the RB3 spot, but Goodson has stood out so far on the practice field.
