The Green Bay Packers begin their preseason this week against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Ahead of their opening exhibition contest, the Packers released their first unofficial depth chart of the summer. While it ultimately doesn't mean much to the team, it does give us an indication of where they stand at each position.

The depth chart looks mostly as expected, but there were a few surprises along the way. Let's take a deeper look.

Surprise: Samori Toure ahead of Jayden Reed in starting lineup

Jayden Reed will have to earn his starting job in Matt LaFleur's offense. Despite making an impressive start to training camp, it's second-year Samori Toure in the starting lineup alongside Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs.

Reed and Toure will have significant roles to play on offense this season, but it is surprising that Toure is ahead of the second-round pick. Reed has been impressive throughout camp, and it should only be a matter of time before he is the No. 3 receiver on the depth chart.

It's always important not to read too much into unofficial depth charts over the summer, but it does give us an indication of where the Packers currently stand at wide receiver. Reed hasn't earned his spot in the Packers' starting lineup just yet.
