Packers must target Jonathan Mingo

No wide receiver in this draft class feels like a better fit for the Packers than Jonathan Mingo. The Ole Miss star has it all.

As always with the Packers, we must start with the size and athletic thresholds. Mingo hits it out of the park at 6-foot-2, 220 pounds, and a Relative Athletic Score of 9.86 out of 10.

"Jonathan Mingo is a height/weight/speed prototype with the ball skills and blocking chops to be an effective starter out of the gate," wrote Bleacher Report's Derrik Klassen.

The Packers lost an excellent blocker at wide receiver this offseason, with Allen Lazard joining the New York Jets. It will be tough to find a blocker on Lazard's level, but Mingo would be a great choice on Day 2 of the draft.

Mingo impressed at the Senior Bowl, which will only increase his stock ahead of the draft.

The Packers have a game-changer in Christian Watson and a smooth route-runner with Romeo Doubs. In Mingo, they would be adding a physical receiver who can start in the slot and make plays as a blocker.

If the Packers plan to address the wide receiver position in the second or third round, they won't find better a fit for Matt LaFleur's offense than Jonathan Mingo.
