4 Packers already tumbling down the depth chart at training camp
1. Patrick Taylor
Patrick Taylor didn't make the Packers' initial 53-man roster a year ago -- the team only kept two running backs -- but he was the preferred third option behind starters Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon in the regular season. That could be about to change with the emergence of Tyler Goodson.
Goodson impressed throughout the summer a year ago but missed out on a roster spot. However, early reports from training camp suggest the Packers are finding creative ways to get Goodson the ball, which is a good sign for his chances of making the roster.
"Tyler Goodson just had a snap in a Tyler Ervin role - coming across as a decoy on a jet sweep. That would be a nice little opportunity for him," writes Andy Herman of the Pack-A-Day podcast.
The more roles Goodson can take on, the better his chances of making the roster as the No. 3 running back. Tyler Ervin played a valuable role in Matt LaFleur's offense. Goodson could potentially do even more with his ability to make explosive runs.
Green Bay needs to find creative ways to move the ball this year. That could include more jet sweeps.
Taylor was the Packers' No. 3 running back last season, but Goodson may have overtaken him on the depth chart in the opening week of training camp.
