The Green Bay Packers returned to the practice field this week for the start of their organized team activities.

It's the first opportunity to see the returning players practicing with the rookie class and Jordan Love throwing passes as the new QB1 in Green Bay.

May is the perfect time for overreactions. Training camp is still a couple of months away, and the team is early in the process of building toward the new season. However, we can still get an idea of where some players are at during OTAs.

These four players are off to an impressive start in the first week of OTAs.

4. Lukas Van Ness is already impressing at Packers OTAs

First-round pick Lukas Van Ness started off with the No. 2 defense, but he hasn't taken long to show what he can do. The Athletic's Matt Schneidman tweeted that Van Ness was "putting on a show with the 2s" on Tuesday.

That's exactly what you want to hear about your first-round pick. Andy Herman of the Pack-A-Day podcast described an impressive play from Van Ness.

Van Ness has made the perfect start. We've heard about his size, athleticism, and power since the Packers drafted him 13th overall. He's now beginning to show that on the practice field.

It's early, and OTAs have only just started, but it has been an encouraging start for Van Ness, who will play a significant role on defense early in his career.
