4 Packers players who are turning heads after second week of training camp
1. Christian Watson building on excellent rookie year
Christian Watson enters the season with high expectations, but he is still a young player in only his second year. Watson dominated in the final eight games of his rookie season. The best part? He still has so much to improve.
Watson is arguably the Packers' number one breakout candidate this season. So far, so good at training camp.
"He has been everywhere. He has been as advertised. He's only getting better," said Andy Herman of the Pack-A-Day podcast.
Watson has the athleticism, size, and speed that makes him tough to defend, but head coach Matt LaFleur also said he is "one of the most intelligent players that I've ever been around."
Then there is his incredible commitment. According to ESPN's Rob Demovsky, Watson stayed in Green Bay for two weeks after the season ended and bought a JUGS machine to work on his catching. Demovsky added that he arrived to training camp two weeks early.
And his work appears to be paying off on the practice field. He has been impressive and looks set for a breakout second season.
The speed of Christian Watson and Luke Musgrave together is going to give defenses all sorts of problems this year.
