4 Packers players who are already turning heads at training camp
3. Carrington Valentine continues to impress at Packers training camp
Carrington Valentine's performances stood out during the offseason program, but he needed to stack success once training camp kicked off.
So far, so good for the seventh-round rookie. Valentine has a serious opportunity ahead of him. If he keeps making plays on the practice field, the Packers will have no option but to save room for him on their 53-man roster.
It's one thing to make plays against backup receivers, but Valentine is holding his own against the Packers' starters. One way to impress the coaching staff is to slow down Christian Watson.
Matt LaFleur said in June that Valentine had done an "unbelievable job" during the Packers' offseason program. The rookie is building on those performances and is putting together a convincing case why he should make the roster as Green Bay's No. 5 cornerback this season.
We are only one week in and it's important for Valentine to keep making plays. He is a player to watch once the Packers host joint practices and begin their preseason.
Competition comes from Corey Ballentine, Shemar Jean-Charles, Kiondre Thomas, Tyrell Ford, and William Hooper, but it's fair to say that Valentine is leading the way after an impressive start to training camp.
