As the Green Bay Packers approached free agency with an MVP quarterback heading elsewhere and little cap space to work with, it was clear they would lose more than they gained in free agency.

Allen Lazard signed with the New York Jets and Robert Tonyan joined the division-rival Chicago Bears.

Adrian Amos, Mason Crosby, and Marcedes Lewis are still free agents. As of yet, there has been no indication that any of them will be returning to Green Bay.

The Packers have lost several talented players in free agency. As the attention switches to the draft, which prospects would be ideal replacements for Green Bay's free agents?

Packers could draft Jordan Battle to replace Adrian Amos

Adrian Amos is a hard act to follow.

Amos started every game from the moment he signed with the Packers in 2019, rarely making mistakes and consistently playing at a high level.

It won't be easy to find a replacement for Amos in the draft, especially in what is a thin class at the position. Alabama's Jordan Battle could be the answer.

Amos is a better athlete than Battle, but the Alabama safety could start in his rookie season. Like Amos, Battle is a talented all-around safety who rarely makes mistakes.

"Battle has the physical and mental makeup to upgrade a defense in need of steady safety play," wrote Lance Zierlein of NFL.com.

"Steady safety play" is what the Packers are losing without Amos, and exactly what Battle can provide.
