2. Packers safety Darnell Savage

Darnell Savage is entering a contract year in 2023. At times, Savage has shown All-Pro potential during his first four seasons with the Packers, but he hasn't been consistent enough.

The Packers have been busy at the safety position already this offseason. They brought back Rudy Ford, who started six games last season, and signed Tarvarius Moore. Green Bay also re-signed Dallin Leavitt, who plays mainly on special teams.

While Savage is a projected starter for the Packers this season, it could be his final year in Green Bay.

We'll find out more about the Packers' long-term plans at safety in the draft. It's a thin safety class, but Green Bay could have opportunities to bring in a future starter. It's one of the Packers' biggest offseason needs, as it seems Adrian Amos won't be back this year. He remains a free agent.

Alabama safeties Brian Branch and Jordan Battle could make sense in the early rounds of the draft. Other potential draft targets for the Packers at safety include Florida State's Jammie Robinson and Iowa State's Anthony Johnson Jr.

It's a prove-it season for Savage. If he plays well, he could land a new long-term deal in Green Bay. If not, the Packers may need a new starting safety in 2024.
