Aaron Jones' comments about Jordan Love will fire up Packers fans
Aaron Jones couldn't speak more highly about Jordan Love.
Aaron Jones is a fantastic running back, but he is also an excellent teammate. He has fully backed Jordan Love anytime he has been asked about him.
As Love prepares for his first season as the Green Bay Packers' starting quarterback, Jones was again asked about the 2020 first-round pick.
"He has everybody's full trust," Jones said about Love.
Jones has already worked out with Love this offseason. Love said that he had worked out with Jones and Romeo Doubs in California, getting valuable reps with two of his teammates.
It says a lot about Jones that he has gone the extra mile to support his new starting quarterback. Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Jones couldn't stop praising Love.
Packers fans will be fired up after Aaron Jones' comments about Jordan Love
As a Packers fan, it's hard not to be excited about Jones' comments. He has full confidence in Love.
"We all love Jordan here. He has everybody's full respect, and we're going to go lay it out on the line for him," Jones said.
Love hasn't played much during his first three seasons with the Packers, but he had a standout performance off the bench against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Entering the game in the fourth quarter with the Packers down by two touchdowns, Love led a four-play, 75-yard touchdown drive to pull Green Bay back into the contest. He made three straight completions, the last a 63-yard touchdown to Christian Watson.
Love kicked off the next series with a pass to Watson for a 15-yard gain. His next pass was his first incompletion, a back-shoulder attempt to Aaron Jones, but it may have been Love's best throw of the night.
"I dropped it. It won't happen again, but it was me," Jones said. "It was a dime. I definitely should've caught it."
Jones added that they see throws like that "daily" at practice.
Love wasn't phased by the drop, connecting with Allen Lazard for a 17-yard completion on the next play.
It was a performance that caused fans and analysts to stand up and take note. Love hasn't played all that often, but this cameo showed significant improvements to his game. He looked sharp, confident, and ready for the moment.
It hasn't all been easy for Love. Despite the Packers trading up for him in the first round, he has had to wait patiently, watching Aaron Rodgers win back-to-back MVPs as the starter.
"As an athlete, you want to come in and play right away. That wasn't Jordan's case, he didn't have that opportunity," said Jones. "He did it the right way, he waited his time. You never heard one peep or complaint out of him."
Jones is fully onboard. He had nothing but praise for the Packers' new QB1, and it's hard not to be excited to watch this offense in 2023.
