The New York Jets are signing yet another former Green Bay Packers player. Just call them the New York Packers.

For years, all we heard was that the Green Bay Packers didn't surround Aaron Rodgers with enough talent.

Yet, ever since he was rumored to be heading to the New York Jets, all the Jets have done is sign former Packers.

It started when they hired former Packers offensive coordinator and close friend of Rodgers, Nathaniel Hackett, to Robert Saleh's coaching staff. From that moment, speculation about a trade to the Jets began to heat up.

Rodgers has since said that Hackett was a "big reason" why he wanted to join the Jets.

In free agency, New York signed one of Rodgers' favorite targets, Allen Lazard, as well as quarterback Tim Boyle, who backed up Rodgers in Green Bay.

Now, the Jets are signing another former Packers player.

Jets keep surrounding Aaron Rodgers with former Packers teammates

According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Jets are signing free-agent offensive lineman Billy Turner to a one-year deal.

It's a smart signing by the Jets, as Turner offers positional versatility. He can play at guard or tackle. His best position in Green Bay was right tackle. According to ESPN, Turner tied for the league lead in pass block win rate while with the Packers in 2020.

He joins a familiar offense run by Nathaniel Hackett, who Turner has played for since 2019. He was in Green Bay from 2019-21, then played for Hackett's Denver Broncos last season.

While it's a nice move by the Jets, it's still hilarious that they continue to add former Packers. It won't be surprising if Marcedes Lewis and Randall Cobb soon join them.

Congratulations to Billy Turner. It's great to see him find a new team.

Maybe Aaron Rodgers did have enough talent alongside him with the Packers, after all.
