Packers should contact Steelers about Aaron Rodgers trade

The Pittsburgh Steelers invested a first-round pick in Kenny Pickett only a year ago, so they may slam the phone down the moment Brian Gutekunst calls. But you never know.

Pickett could still be the Steelers' future even if they traded for Aaron Rodgers. It may help his development, learning from Rodgers for one or two seasons. If Pittsburgh believes Pickett can become a difference-maker this year, a Rodgers trade will never happen. However, if they like the idea of giving him time to develop, going all-in with Rodgers could make sense.

Rodgers and Steelers coach Mike Tomlin have a lot of respect for each other. Now imagine them working together.

Tomlin has never had a losing season in Pittsburgh. He knows how to win. With Aaron Rodgers, they'd have a team ready to compete in the AFC.

The Steelers have a solid defense that ranked 13th in the NFL last season. Their offense features a talented receiving duo of Diontae Johnson and George Pickens.

The chances of the Steelers trading for Rodgers are likely close to zero, but it doesn't mean it's impossible. With a talented roster, perhaps the Steelers would be tempted to make a move for the future Hall-of-Famer.
