The offseason is drama over. The Green Bay Packers have traded Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets.
While it felt inevitable that Rodgers would eventually join the New York Jets, it was still a shock to see the news finally come through. Rodgers has provided years of incredible moments for Packers fans to enjoy, and not-so-fun times for the rest of the NFC North.
Green Bay got the better deal in this trade. While New York becomes a contender with Rodgers, the Packers got a great return for their soon-to-be 40-year-old quarterback.
The Packers swapped their No. 15 first-round pick for the Jets' No. 13 selection, and they also received 2023 picks in the second and sixth rounds and a 2024 second-rounder that becomes a first if Rodgers plays 65 percent of the Jets' snaps this season.
It's a great deal for the Packers, but fans of the other three NFC North teams have reason to celebrate. After years of watching Aaron Rodgers dominate, they can enjoy his departure from the division.
Fans of the Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, and Minnesota Vikings have shared their thoughts on the Aaron Rodgers trade.

I will say though… Packers ended up with a really damn good deal considering he was never going to play for them again.

Not only do they very likely land a 2024 1st rounder, there appears to be zero protection for the Jets if Rodgers retires next off-season.
Finally. Rodgers is OUT of the NFC North. Good riddance!! https://t.co/9WXOUxG9Xv

And it appears the fan bases of all four teams in the NFC North are glad Aaron Rodgers is out of the division lolol

There is not another player I could possibly be happier to see leave the NFC North. December 3, 2015 was a bottom 3 moment for me working in Detroit. See ya 12 🫡

Save those tweets. Nobody knows how Jordan Love will play this season, but it may be a little early for NFC North fans to be opening the champagne bottle.
They would've been just as excited when the Packers traded Brett Favre to the New York Jets. Little did they know, the Packers had another Hall-of-Famer ready to start. A quarterback they selected in the first round and developed for three seasons.
Eighteen years after the Packers drafted Rodgers, they have traded him to the Jets. If only they had a first-round pick who has three years of development behind him.
